The Human Eye Proteome Map (HEP) portal is an initiative to map the global proteome profile of the eye. Fourteen different tissues of the eye were used for the generating the high throughput data. The data acquisition was based on LC-MS/MS by utilizing of high resolution and high accuracy Fourier transform mass spectrometry, Orbitrap Fusion mass analyzer. Currently, the HEP contains direct evidence of translation of a number of protein products derived from over 10,548 human genes covering ~50% of the annotated protein-coding genes in humans based on Y non-redundant peptide identifications of multiple tissues of the eye, from individuals with clinically defined healthy tissues. The HEP portal serves as an interactive web resource by reorganizing the label-free quantitative proteomic data
